Lakowe, Ajah — Lagos State August 12–16, 2026

Mission Charis brought the gospel, medical assistance and welfare outreach to Lakowe, Ajah, from August 12–16, 2026. Seventy mission volunteers served across counselling, children, youth, welfare, prayer, medical, media and logistics teams.

Preparation

  • 70 mission volunteers served across eight teams.
  • Counselling: 16; Children: 7; Youth: 10; Welfare: 11; Prayer: 2; Medical: 10; Media: 9; Logistics: 6.
  • Morning and evening cries and street evangelism reached Lagasa 2 CDA, alongside the outreach in Lakowe.

Crusade nights

  • Day 1 crusade attendance: 492; Day 2 crusade attendance: 551.
  • The report summarises crusade attendance as 1,000+ and overall outreach reach as 800+.
  • 163 total converts were recorded — 147 new converts and 16 rededications.

Community outreach

  • Saturday outreach: 250 adult participants, 198 youths engaged, 350 children reached and 250+ patients assisted.
  • 300+ adults received medical care, cloth materials and/or raw foodstuff packages.
  • Over 200 youths received clothing, food items and school supplies; 350+ children received books, educational materials and food items.
  • The counselling team reached at least 250 people in roughly three hours, recording 48+ converts; about 70 children responded to the altar call.

Testimonies

  • 18 converts have since been water baptised; 22 recorded converts were previously Muslim.
  • Youth Aflame recorded 38 young people surrendering to Christ, with several visibly weeping and seeking further counsel.
  • Follow-up classes recorded 25 attendees on August 23, 19 on August 30 and 12 on September 6.
  • The report records healing of a swollen leg, a stiff hand regaining motion, and relief from body and waist pain during prayer.
  • The prayer and deliverance team reported freedom from spiritual bondages, with testimonies of Holy Ghost baptism and impartation among youths.

Challenges encountered

  • Limited hands for sorting and packaging welfare items and limited workforce across teams.
  • Space constraints at the crusade and outreach venue.
  • Language and cultural barriers.
  • Limited demand for welfare items among members of the host community.
